Title and short name are different
App title is a recognizable application name; Short name is its shorter identifier. Neither is your Telegram number, nickname, bot token or access code.
For example, Personal Notes and personalnotes26 illustrate a name pair for a real purpose. They are examples, not existing credentials or a promise of acceptance.
Use a simple format to check input
Start the short name with an English letter and use only English letters and digits. Avoid spaces, Chinese punctuation, emoji and invisible pasted characters. Our current rule is 5–32 characters beginning with a letter; this simple pattern meets that portion of validation.
Passing our validation does not mean Telegram approved creation. Follow the official form if its requirements differ. Do not substitute nickname or bot-username rules.
Claims that a specific name always works or that global uniqueness guarantees success are not acceptance guarantees here. For a generic ERROR, check other creation stages.
URL and Platform
When using the portal yourself, choose the platform and describe your real use. If you have no website, check whether URL is required. Do not paste access codes, phone numbers or credential-bearing links.
Our current workflow submits a desktop application type and a personal-use description, with title and short name visible for review. If your project needs different details, ask about suitability or use the official form yourself.
The official instructions say to fill in the API development tools form. They do not prescribe a universal title, URL or platform that solves every error.
Check whether it is resolved
Correcting a local format error only makes the field valid for submission. Creation is complete when the app details show ID and Hash.
If submission times out or returns an unclear result, check for an existing app before acting again. An existing application should be read, not recreated merely to change its name.
