Quick answer: Complete login on your own target phone or computer, confirm the account and device, then log out of the current account in Telegram X. Finally check the remaining sessions. Account deletion or uninstalling first is not a substitute for this sequence.
This GetTGAPI guide at gettgapi.com explains how to finish the device transition after registration.
Check these three things first
- Your usual device has opened the correct account and is no longer on a code or password screen.
- You still hold the registered phone number and can receive required verification.
- You control any email or two-step verification credentials used for the account.
If the target is not signed in yet, follow the additional device guide. Keep your only signed-in Telegram X session available while you obtain any in-app login code.
Log out of the current Telegram X account
Open Telegram X settings, check the currently selected account and number, and find Log Out. Read its confirmation. Depending on the version, the option may be in settings or a menu.
With multiple accounts, switch to the one you intend to leave. Afterwards, the client should return to login or another signed-in account, rather than continuing to show the departed account's messages.
Logging out does not delete the Telegram account. Cloud messages and local secret chats have different consequences when leaving a device. Official logout explanation
Check the device list again
On your own target client, open Settings → Devices / Active Sessions and refresh the list. Check that the Telegram X session is gone while the intended device stays signed in.
Closing an app is not logout. Uninstalling is not independent proof that the remote session has ended either. If an entry remains, use the official session-management flow rather than repeatedly deleting the app.
Closing, logging out, uninstalling and deleting
| Action | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Close Telegram X | Leave its interface; login may remain active |
| Log out of the current account | End that account's login in this client |
| Uninstall Telegram X | Remove the app and local data; still check remote sessions |
| Delete the Telegram account | Remove the account itself; this is not a routine device transition |
Use logout or the appropriate device-session control when moving to another device.
Retain email and two-step credentials
A registration email may still be needed for future login. A two-step password and recovery email must also remain under your control if enabled. Logging out does not automatically remove or transfer them.
If the email was borrowed, temporary or inaccessible, resolve its ownership using the supported official settings before leaving the old device. Having received one SMS does not mean every future login will use only SMS.
Reinstalling and continuing to API applications
Use Telegram X on Google Play or the official GitHub APK direct link if you need to reinstall. The download guide explains the pinned version.
Once registration and the device transition are complete, follow API applications if you need ID and Hash. For API ERROR issues, visit GetTGAPI at https://gettgapi.com, contact support, or use an existing API application access code at the access-code entrance.
